Any questions?
Mother Earth is looking a wee bit ragged, and I'm not sure how long the leaves will survive, but Short Pants is really enjoying the new nature table. Bean has already reminded me that I'll have to start making the nativity scene for it soon. Is this a clue that my daughter knows me - that she reminds me of something I need to do months before it needs to be done? Anyway, the book I have suggests making the nativity dolls with a posterboard body covered in felt. I'm thinking I'll stick with needlefelting, as Short Pants would have a wise man torn apart in under an hour. I'm hoping to add some little needlefelted pumpkins to our fall scene, but don't hold your breath.
Yesterday found me in the baking mood, and after seeing something similar on another blog, I decided to give Betty Crocker's apple crostada with carmel sauce. I had to roll out the dough twice as it stuck the first time - The Mister is the pie baker around here.
But it came out very yummy:
It came out so yummy that you need to get some apples and make it tonight. Seriously. I'm normally not big on anything with baked apples, but this was awesome. And besides, who couldn't love a recipe that involves a crust containing 1/2 cup of butter?
The first redwork piece for our bathroom is almost done. I ran out of embroidery thread, so have been waiting on that. Since Wal-Mart stopped carrying it, it's an hour round-trip to the nearest place. Stupid Wal-Mart. I have to go down that way this evening, so I'm hoping to get some picked up before a night spent watching the premiere of "Grey's Anatomy" with some friends. Let's hope Meredith is not so....slumpy...this season. It makes me dislike her. Lots.
